FROM DIE SHOP TO SHIPMENT: OUR PRODUCTION PROCESS

Our aluminium profiles are made to high quality standards, passing through 6 precision production stages at our integrated plant. The processes and operating values for each stage are set out below.

  1. 1Die Shop and Design
  2. 2Profile Extrusion
  3. 3Surface Treatment (Powder Coating & Anodising)
  4. 4Laboratory and Quality Control
  5. 5Precision Machining & CNC

Step 1

Die Shop and Design

Every quality profile starts with a flawless die design. We machine custom profile dies in-house from H13 hot-work tool steel, using CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM) and precision measuring systems. For standard profiles we offer our extensive die archive, and for custom profile requests we have new dies ready for production within 7-14 working days.

At the die design stage, metal flow, balancing channels and cooling parameters are simulated. This is where the surface quality and tolerances of the finished product are set.

Step 2

Profile Extrusion

Homogenised aluminium billets are heated to 500-550 °C and then fed to our extrusion presses. The profiles run out at 5-20 metres per minute, depending on the alloy and the complexity of the cross-section.

At the press exit the profiles are quenched with water or air, then straightened by stretching. They are then brought to the required temper: T4 by natural ageing, T5, T6 or T66 by artificial ageing in an ageing oven.

Step 3

Surface Treatment (Powder Coating & Anodising)

Depending on where they will be used and on the architectural requirements, profiles are finished in our automatic electrostatic powder coating plant or our anodising (anodic oxidation) plant.

Powder coating is available in more than 200 colours and textures from the RAL colour chart. Our anodising plant applies natural silver, bronze, black and champagne as standard. For abrasive environments and corrosive coastal architecture we supply anodising to the Class 25 standard.

Step 4

Laboratory and Quality Control

Before shipment, every production batch goes through detailed testing in our in-house Quality Control Laboratory. Chemical composition analysis with an OES spectrometer, mechanical tensile and break tests, hardness measurements and dimensional checks are carried out meticulously.

For your international projects, inspection by independent third-party bodies such as SGS or Bureau Veritas can be arranged on request.

Every shipment comes with a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) to EN 755. Reporting to ASTM standards is also available on request.

Precision Machining & CNC

Profiles are cut, drilled, CNC milled, bent and welded to your project's technical drawings. Precision cuts at 0°, 45° and 90° and our CNC operations are carried out to a tolerance of ±0.05 mm.

Cutting to the exact lengths you need optimises your logistics and labour costs. Bending and roll bending are calculated by our engineering team from your project's R:D ratios before they are carried out.

Packaging, Logistics and Shipment

To protect the surface of the profiles from external damage, they are wrapped in PE protective film, PE foam or kraft paper. The bundles are secured with steel or plastic strapping, palletised and stretch-wrapped.

The wooden pallets we use for sea freight and international transport are ISPM-15 certified.

We offer EXW, FOB and CIF delivery terms to customers worldwide and load from the ports of Istanbul, Izmir and Mersin. The packing list, invoice, Certificate of Origin (CoO) and Test Reports (MTC) are included in full with the shipping documents.
